This last show of the year is a review of a few of 2017’s many attacks on conservation. Discussing the national onslaught and local responses are Earth Matters co-hosts Allyson Siwik of Gila Resources Information Project (GRIP) and Gila Conservation Coaltion, Donna Stevens of the Upper Gila Watershed Alliance, and Nathan Newcomer of the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance. In the last part of the show, they’re joined by Kevin Bixby of the Southwest Environmental Center of Las Cruces, who will become an Earth Matters co-host in 2018. They discuss conservation issues and threats of 2017, the work of their respective organizations, and then look ahead to the new year’s challenges.
