This show features a taking-circle-style dialogue on the topic of the criminal justice system within the United States. Our intention is to bring to you a variety of perspectives on this topic, to identify some of the significant flaws in that system and to indicate some directions for their remedy. We hope that this show sheds some light on lesser-known aspects of our criminal justice system for the benefit of our listeners.

Our guests for this show include: 

  • T. Marie King, an activist, speaker and trainer for racial justice and nonviolence, from Birmingham, Alabama, presenting to more than 250 groups across the nation. T. Marie also works with the police department in her community through the National Network for Safe Communities. 
  • Sabrina King, a policy analyst and activist who has worked on prison organizing, criminal justice reform, and climate change mitigation and adaptation. Employed by the ACLU, she also works full time in Wyoming to end the death penalty there.
  • Ryan Ramnarace, a founding member of the Formerly Incarcerated College Graduates Network, and a member of Convict Criminology. He has worked in varying capacities in Sauk County, Wisconsin to improve the criminal justice system and as a Certified Peer Support Specialist. 
  • Raj Ramnarace, has worked as a patrol officer for the La Crosse Police Department in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Raj has served as a consultant for multiple federal law enforcement programs and agencies. Raj now teaches Criminal Justice at Western Technical College.
  • Dr. Edward Valandra, is Sicangu Titunwan/Oceti Sakowin Oyate, and has served in multiple leadership roles within his nation over the course of many years. He is the founder of the Community for the Advancement of Native Studies and isthe Native Studies senior editor for Living Justice Press.
